A family story
Jean-Michel and Nadim, 2 cousins of Lebanese origin and passionate about ice cream, created Bältis to introduce Lebanese ice cream with new codes, in search of exceptional, organic products, which you can taste in sorbets or ice cream, but also associated with resolutely gourmet preparations!
Sorbets and Lebanon
It was from the snows of Mount Lebanon, mixed with fruit juices or flower hydrosols, that the first sorbets, sharab in Arabic, were created in the 9th century, which were enjoyed in Lebanon, but also at the court of the Caliph in Damascus, Cairo and Baghdad.
Baltis
Bältis, or Baaltis, is a pre-Phoenician goddess, protector of the city of Beirut or Byblos. She is associated with Astartea and Venus.
